Sawyer Rae Birth Story

On Tuesday March 10, 2015, we went to our 37 week ob appointment and we were told that we would be having our baby girl the very next day via cesarean section at 12:00 p.m. Throughout my pregnancy I had high blood pressure and starting at 33 weeks the baby started to slow down gaining weight. My dr was concerned that my blood pressure was affecting Sawyer and she decided the best thing to do would be to get her out of my belly so she could be monitored on the outside. A vaginal delivery would be too stressful for our baby so we went with what we felt was the safest option for her. At 12:28 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 our baby girl let our her first scream and tears stram down mine and my husbands face. Hearing that cry was the best feeling I have ever experienced. I think my heart almost burst out of my chest! They brought her over to me about 10-15 minutes later and I was so in love I couldn't even feel pain.

She was whisked off to the nicu for 6 hours the first day to monitor her low blood sugar. They had to put a feeding tube down her nose to supplement neosure formula in hopes to bring it back up.
After 24 hours she didn't have to be pricked on her little heels anymore because her blood sugar stabilized and we were sent home Saturday at lunch time.
Her brother made her the sweetest note for her coming home!
He is really quite fond of her!!! She's not allowed to date... eVER... According to her dad and big brother!

We are so blessed to have this sweet girl in our lives!
With love, Dez

Baby Shower Numero Uno

This past weekend my sister in law, sister and mom threw me a family baby shower and it was so amazing. We had about 25-30 people show up and we played some fun games.

First we did the clothespin game where everybody got a clothespin and you couldn't say "Baby" or "Sawyer". If you said either of those words, the person that heard you got your pin. Whoever ended up with the most at the end won.

Second we did the baby food game. My sister laid out 7 different baby foods and you could identify the baby food by smelling or tasting it. Whoever got the most right won.

Third we did a beer bottle chugging game. We filled the baby bottles to 4 oz and whoever chugged the beer out of the bottle with the nipple won.

Last we did a basket of goodies game. My sister walked the basket around to everyone and told them to remember as many baby items as the could. She then handed out pens and paper and you had to write down as many as you could remember. Whoever wrote the most won.

They were simple, yet fun game! Everyone had a great time. We served four different kinds of sandwiches, pink deviled eggs, a fruit and veggie tray, rice krispy treats, a beautiful cake, fantastic cookies, candies and a cake ball dip. Sawyer is going to be so spoiled by the time she gets here and she has an abundance of wonderful people in her life already.

My friend baby shower will be coming up on March 7!

Blessed

I am feeling so blessed. Blessed to have the life I have. Blessed to be able to get pregnant after trying for over a year and a half. Blessed to be in a happy loving marriage that not many people have in their lifetime. Blessed to have an amazing step-son. Blessed to have a warm home. Blessed to be able to make the decision to stay home with my sweet girl in just 7 short weeks. Blessed for so many things. I don't know why I am feeling this overwhelming sense of blessings, probably the pregnancy hormones. Ahhhh I just want her to be here already so we can spread all of our love to her.
