Wedding Recap

My brother got married last weekend and I couldn't be more excited!!! Check out some IPhone pictures from their beautiful day.

Pre Ceremony fun with my sister and her bf.
Oh you know, just being us.
Yay, they are married!!! Mr and Mrs.

The ceremony was so beautiful and I am not going to lie, I cried! What??? I never cry! I will blame it on female probz and Kasey, because she looked so dang gorgeous and what the heck, my brother crying didn't help either. I am so happy for them and the journey they are about to embark on together. I wish you BOTH nothing but happiness!

Now on to the reception where there is no time for crying, because we gotta put on our beer drinkin (*sangria drinkin) party dancin butts to work. We literally danced the night away. Even, Trey (my stepson) who said he would NOT partake in any dancing wouldn't get off the dance floor. I am telling you he is going to be some kind of dancer when he gets older.

Trey was squeezing me so hard in this pic, that's why my face looks silly in this one.

Here are the newlyweds off to their honeymoon to the El Dorado Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They just got back on Saturday and LOVED it. Hubs and I are thinking we may have to try this one out since they raved so much about it. We took our honeymoon last year to Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and could not say enough good things about it, but we want to see all kinds of different places and not keep going to the same spot. We will probably go back to Grande Riviera for a big milestone anniversary.

Have you been to any amazinggggggggggg tropical destinations that we should look into?

A unique wedding gift on a budget

Its wedding season! That means engagement parties, couples showers, bridal showers, bachelor parties and bachelorette parties. That means.... Gifts, lots and lots of gifts. My older brother is getting married this Saturday and I wanted to get them something unique. My sister and I were brainstorming and she sent me a picture of this super cute framed last name that her boyfriends mom had made for him.

Great idea, but I didn't have the time to order one. I decided I would do it myself. I started out by looking up what letters I wanted to use on Pinterest and saved them to my computer. I just opened a word document and saved their last name in a black and white scheme and a colorful scheme.

In the end, the colorful version won out. I printed them out on thick card stock (2 per page) and cut them out. The only thing was I needed to find something to frame them. I originally wanted to pin them to a piece of wood but I didn't have the time to cut, stain and sand the wood, so I had to find a frame. My mom and I searched hobby lobby hi and lo. We finally came across the perfect shadow box with burlap backing, which was perfect, because they are using burlap in their wedding.

I bought decorative nailhead pins and little flowers to use to jazz it up.
I love it so much that I am going to make one for us too!
